About

Dean of the Rotman School of Management

As Dean of the Rotman School of Management, I am working to lead a transformation of MBA education. My concern is that business education is narrow where it should be broad, shallow where it should be deep and static where it should be dynamic.

My work on Integrative Thinking is aimed at producing managers who have a deeper understanding of the models that they are taught and use and an ability to integrate across seemingly incommensurable models. My work on Design Thinking is targeted at producing managers who can go beyond choosing from among existing models to creating superior new models. My work on prosperity and on corporate social responsibility has the purpose of broadening the perspective of managers to see business and business decision-making in the broader social context.

We are bringing to bear fundamental research in these areas in order to have the most innovative curriculum in the business school world.
