Conducts research related to the economic geography of creative occupations, urban morphology, and curation as an economic process. . Holds BA in Urban Studies and MA in Geography from The University of Toronto. Currently completing a PhD in Urban Planning from UCLA (Expected completion 2019).
Supports Roger Martin as well as other aspects of the institute with a focus on executive administration and events. Her professional experience includes executive administration, sport and events management, provincial grant writing and philanthropic stewardship. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Northwood University, Florida Campus.
Researcher on the infrastructure of democratic capitalism project and policy analyst at the Institute for Competitiveness and Prosperity. Jacob holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from McGill University and was previously employed as an economist at the Centre for the Study of Living Standards in Ottawa.
Creating the MPI’s visual identity through info-graphics, data visualization, and design, she works closely with the team to create effective communications. Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from OCAD and a Masters in Information from the University of Toronto.
Draws from his experience in management, business history, and environmental sciences to make connections across the pillars of infrastructure underlying democratic capitalism. When not researching, he contributes to the design and delivery of executive education programs in strategy, Integrative Thinking, and Business Design. A former geologist, Darren holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management and a BA, Summa Cum Laude, from Colgate University.
Senior researcher and research project manager of Cities. Karen’s quantitative research examines the challenges and divides created by urban prosperity with a particular focus on migration and immigration in the United States and Canada. Karen holds a PhD in Geography from McMaster University and Masters of Economics from the University of Toronto.
Long term collaborator of the MPI and visiting faculty at the Martin Prosperity Institute since 2009. Studies location patterns of creative individuals and firms to determine how they shape regional development. Charlotta has more than 150 invited, external speeches, both nationally and internationally, including the EU and the UN, and companies like IBM.
A writer and educator, Jennifer’s work centres on creative problem solving, strategy, innovation and integrative thinking. At MPI, Jennifer focuses primarily on the democratic capitalism project, including overseeing our work on intervention design.
Leads the design thinking initiative within the Institute and collaborates with industry partners to advance the discipline. Previously Associate Director of Rotman DesignWorks. Stefanie holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management and is a registered corporate coach.
Manages and supports all operational aspects of the Institute with a focus on executive administration. Her professional experience includes freelance journalism, multi-media creation, as well as promotions and event coordination. She completed the Journalism program at Humber College and is currently working toward certification as a Project Management Professional.
Jamison has spent the last 14 years working in the public policy arena. He brings a thoughtful and results oriented approach to his role as the Executive Director at the Martin Prosperity Institute and the Institute for Competitiveness and Prosperity, two of Canada’s leading think tanks. Jamison is responsible for the day to day operation of both institutes, as well as the development of the strategic plan, communication vehicles and policy agenda. Jamison is excited to be working with top minds like Roger Martin and Richard Florida, as well as developing policy content of his own in areas such as innovative public policy, competitiveness, social policy and, increasingly, data science.
Jamison holds a B.A. (Honours) and a B.Ed from Queen’s, an LLB from Dalhousie and he is a graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
