Articles I've Written on Design Thinking:

Knowledge Funnel
I have written a series of articles that explore the concept of the Knowledge Funnel and lay out the challenge of exploitation of current knowledge versus exploration of new knowledge. All of my writing on design began with my 2004 article in Rotman Magazine– The Design of Business. I was stunned by the number of request I received– over a dozen– to republish the article in countries around the world including Latin America, Asia and Europe. The popularity of that article was higher than for any article I had previously written, so I wrote more.

Reliability versus Validity
I have written another series of articles that deal with the tension between validity and reliability. Within this series of articles, I am particularly pleased with the initial article in Harvard Business Review's Breakthrough Ideas for 2005 issue, the 2006 Fast Company article and the 2007 Journal of Business Strategy article.

The Mindset of a Designer
I have also written a series of articles on how designers think in order to help business-people both understand designers and adopt more of their ways of thinking. I particularly like The Positive Spiral: Six Keys to Success.

Design and Development
I have also written about China and India and the role of design there in their economic development.
