2009 Best of Lists

It has been a lovely and gratifying week for The Design of Business.  On Tuesday (December 15, 2009) the influential business book site 800-CEO-READ named The Design of Business the winner in its Business Book Awards of 2009 for the Innovation and Creativity category.  I was thrilled when The Opposable Mind got an honorable mention in its Business Book Awards of 2007, so I was bowled over when Design of Business won this year.

Then on Wednesday (December 16, 2009), my hometown paper (and Canada’s leading business paper) named The Design of Business one of its Top Ten Business Books of 2009.

And finally, today (December 17, 2009) Business Week named The Design of Business to its list of the Best Innovation and Design Books of 2009.

I am appreciative of the kind words and support the book has received from these commentators and many others.  I feel as though I got my Christmas present a week early!

And speaking of that, I am psyched up to get back over the holiday period to pushing forward the writing on my next book – a joint venture with AG Lafley of P&G on how to transform an organization with strategy.  Look for it in the fall of 2011.  And look for a fun Harvard Business Review article by me in the Jan-Feb issue out January 1, 2010.  It is actually up on HBR’s site now if you want a sneak peak before January 1.
